Local-Only Processing

01

iChecker is built around a zero-transmission architecture. Every hardware diagnostic test runs entirely on your device — no data leaves your device through us, period.

  • We do not require or maintain user accounts of any kind.
  • Your device's Serial Number and Model Number are accessed only for on-device display and are never stored on any remote server.
  • All diagnostic data stays entirely within the app's sandboxed storage on your device.

Permissions & Sensors

02

iChecker requests specific device permissions solely to perform hardware diagnostics. Each permission is used only for its stated purpose and never for tracking or data collection.

📷
Camera
Used for Dead Pixel tests and generating Camera Evidence photos included in the PDF report. Images are stored only within the app's internal sandboxed storage and are never uploaded.
🔔
Action Button / Silent Switch
We monitor the system ringer state locally to verify hardware button functionality. No ringer data leaves your device.
🔐
Biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID)
Used only to verify the integrity of the biometric Secure Enclave sensors. No biometric data is collected, stored, or transmitted — biometric processing is handled entirely by Apple's secure framework.
🧭
Motion & GPS
Used to test the Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Magnetometer, and GPS chip accuracy. All sensor readings are processed on-device and discarded immediately after testing.
🎙️
Microphone
Used for Mic Frequency and Speaker diagnostic tests. Audio data is analyzed in real-time on-device and is never recorded or stored.

PDF Report Generation

03

The PDF diagnostic report (featuring the iChecker logo and branding) is generated entirely on your device. No data is sent to our servers during this process.

  • Camera Evidence photos are saved only within the app's internal storage and are automatically deleted when you reset your tests.
  • The generated PDF can be shared at your discretion via the iOS share sheet — we do not automatically upload or transmit it.
  • You remain in full control of where and with whom your diagnostic report is shared.
📢

Monetization & Ads

04

iChecker uses Google AdMob to display advertisements that support free access to core diagnostic features.

Ad Types
  • Native & Interstitial Ads — displayed during normal app usage to support free access to core diagnostic features.
  • Rewarded Ads — "Pro" features (PDF Export and Theme Switching) are unlocked by watching a rewarded video ad.
48-Hour Theme Unlock

When you watch a rewarded ad to unlock themes, we store the timestamp of your last rewarded ad locally on your device (via UserDefaults) to grant 48-hour ad-free access to theme customization. This timestamp never leaves your device.

AdMob Data Collection
  • Advertising ID (IDFA) — accessed only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission.
  • Device information — model, OS version, and language for ad serving.
  • General location — country/region level only, inferred from IP address.

For more information on how Google handles your data, please review Google's Privacy & Terms at policies.google.com/privacy.

  • Upon first launch (or as required by regulation), you will be presented with a consent dialog allowing you to choose between personalized and non-personalized advertising.
  • Your consent preference is respected across all ad placements within the app.
  • You may update your consent preferences at any time through the app's settings.
